I was fired today after putting my two weeks in yesterday. She told me she appreciated me putting my two weeks in but there was too many complaints from clients ie) dogs not being bathed properly or clients complaining about hair cuts she asked me to

come get my stuff. & she also told me I was burnt out. I believe that's far from the truth it was just time for me to expand & find a place with better pay/benefits. Pictures of my supposedly unwashed, burnt out from grooming, doodles I did a few weeks ago.

Baekseoulhui Grooming is a very..... Dramatic profession. Lots of egos. Chances are you hurt their ego. I wouldn't worry about it if you were going to leave anyway

squeemishyoungfella the photos speak for themselves. there's no shortage of jobs in this profession.

Daughterof Tarot Anyone with access to a client list like this in inside Sales work nearly always gets walked once they give notice.

I've worked in a groom shop, I know it's not the same, but you had access to poach.

Super of her to make it seem for cause though. It's presumably at will anyway. She's just ped, hiring good groomers is a pain in the a, so she took it out on you. Don't let it in, I'm sure you're talented!

thedoc617 Fwiw I think your dogs look great

    My_Booty_Itches Unemployment here we come!

skwyatt0530 It has to be one of the hardest jobs! I always tip my groomers very well, because bathing and grooming dogs is exhausting! Just bathing my huge English Springer Spaniel wears me out, and my Shih Tzu will bite me if I even touch his feet. I think the Doodle looked great!

CutLow 8166 Good. Now you can draw unemployment while you look for a better job. :) They should've just let you quit lol.

Galvanized Rubbish Zero issues until you turned in your notice? Sounds like your employer was just trying to get you out the door. Seen it happen before.

An_thon_ny I've managed two salons and I'm opening my own this summer, I tell everyone who runs a salon the same thing: never allow two weeks. If two weeks is given accept the resignation and let them know it won't be

necessary and you'll have their final paycheck at their next scheduled shift. and if you're a groomer there's no point. There's just too much tension and weirdness in those last two weeks and something always goes wrong. Just move on to bigger and better things.

thecasualabrasive Sounds like your employers know you did quality work and didn't want to risk letting you take clients with you otw out.

coolcootermcgee It sounds like you were being taken advantage of

teaflowr Your dogs look amazing. That salon didn't deserve you and your talents. I hope you find a salon that better suits you, | wish you so much luck and success (btw, look into local shows! Your grooms would do wonders in competitions. I love your scissor work).

anonysmoker Their loss. When one door closes, a better one opens. You're a very talented groomer. Good luck! Never settle.

No-Analyst2820 Check your labour laws. Where I am you can't terminate someone after they have given notice unless there is cause and customer complaints that you listed would not be considered cause and the employer would still owe to either a) let you stay the 2 weeks b) have to pay you out.
