'Don't mess with IT folks': Entitled employee unapologetically makes his coworker cry, so IT makes his job a living nightmare until he apologizes

Welcome to the world of tech—which is everywhere now. It's almost impossible to work anywhere, these days, without having a component of technology ingrained in its system. Even if it's just the checkout process, you need tech. Wifi, laptops, computers, whatever. You need it and with that you need specialists in it. Cue the IT department. This department is a must when dealing with technology, because if something goes wrong you need to hire someone who can fix it. So it's important to treat these employees with the utmost respect, because they can make or break you. 

 

Unfortunately for this entitled employee, he didn't realize that IT could make his working life a living nightmare. So when he made a beloved employee cry for no reason other than he wanted to be mean, the IT department decided to put him in his place.

  • This guy quickly learned that he messed up when IT not only created issues for him, but also refused to actually get to fixing any of his reported issues. They would even disconnect his wi-fi directly in front of him, while they were in the same meeting! Turned out to be a pretty fun game for them that ended with justice being served. At the end, the guy caught on that IT was doing this to him on purpose, and when he asked them to stop, they told him that maybe if he apologized to their coworker everything would be fine…

  • -fenomenoide- This one old coworker was super annoying when in the common area, playing loud music and forcing us to watch stupid content from his laptop so I would throttle his laptop to something like 5mbps and tell him there was stronger wifi upstairs so he would go away.

  • Wandering-Host I've done something similar; I've set people's group policy settings to disconnect after 45 seconds. Just enough to get comfortably into the system. Then, when a ticket's raised, quickly reset them and watch them log in fine whilst they explain "it'll kick me off any minute! Watch! Well, it I was doing it before..."

  • PomegranatePlus6526 OP We worked together for 14 years. You really get close to people and learn about their families and loved ones etc. You have a bond and take it personal when someone does that. Especially when I don't even remember exactly what he was complaining about. She was just crying her eyes out.

Guy was a to me one time, saying "when I say jump, you say how high", and said he would come back tomorrow if his issue wasn't fixed. He did some graphic design bulls job, with all his work stored on the company network storage.
