Welcome back, Latchkey Ladies. You were so dubbed because so many kids of your generation came home to empty homes while their parents were away at work. You were not only given keys to your house to let yourself in, but you spent most of your afternoon drinking hose water, slinking around arcades at the mall, and riding your bike until the street lamps turned on. You were left largely unsupervised and lived a rather carefree childhood – and you did it all to the tune of "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," amongst other 80s anthems.

Perhaps that is why so many Gen X ladies raised their Gen Z kids with so much care and involvement. Sure, your childhood was fun, but it was also a little scary, and the potential for danger was rather high. Still, you can't help but feel a bit nostalgic for the days of your youth.
