Is it wrong to deny someone something who has been denying you other things all of your life? Now, that sounds a bit confusing, so let me rephrase.
A large portion of the population deals with an absentee parent—that's the way life goes. A young dad or mom decides that they don't want the parent life, and the children are left picking up the pieces their "parent" dropped. Instead of crying about it, we move on—and that's speaking from personal experience. However, even after we move on, we don't want to indulge the absent parent, either. They don't deserve to feel like a parent at all, so it's up to you to set boundaries with their entitled wants and wishes.
The woman in this next story does exactly that, and is under fire for doing so. She refuses to have a father-daughter dance at her upcoming wedding because, in reality, her father wasn't much of a father at all. She explains that he doesn't deserve the title, let alone a dance dedicated to all he didn't do. Scroll below to read the full story.
