Studio Ghibli Fan Recreates Outfits Inspired by Miyazaki Movies in Real Life

We've all heard about cosplaying. While dressing up as your favorite cartoon characters can be all fun and games, it can get expensive real quick – especially if you're going for a realistic look. Sure, you can get a cheap costume off of Amazon, but sometimes the sweat and itchiness induced by all the synthetic fabric isn't worth it. There are ways to cosplay on a budget, though. Besides DIY-ing your own pieces, you can also cosplay out of your own closet. For example, Disney fans have started a trend called Disney bounding where they create outfits with normal clothes inspired by characters from the films.

While the term Disney bounding, of course, refers to the creation of outfits inspired by Disney characters, there is nothing stopping an anime fan from doing the same with Japanese cartoons. The Chinese influencer featured below has crafted several adorable outfits based off of the women from Miyazaki's movies.
