Airbnb host increases price by $400+ after booking then cancels reservation, guests gets host kicked off the app: 'He had to stop renting his place out entirely'

No one likes a shady host! This dude actually thought he could get away with trying to up the price of his Airbnb rental by the equivalent of over $400 after a guest had already booked a reservation for a much cheaper, decently priced amount. 

For some background information, it was a crowded holiday weekend, and the Airbnb host must not have realized in advance that he could make a lot more money if he listed his rental at the same overpriced amounts as other hosts in the area did. However, as JoJo says, it was just a little too late. The author of this story already booked a reservation at the cheap price for his friend, who was visiting for the holiday. However, this Airbnb host had the audacity to attempt to retaliate by quietly cancelling said reservation without any notification, as if it was the guest's fault that he snagged a well-priced Airbnb for the weekend!

  • Imagine booking that Airbnb only to get a notification later on that the price has been increased by such a substantial amount. The guest had the right to refuse this amount, so naturally, he did… and yet he was the one who was punished. Obviously, this guy wasn't going to let the host get away with cancelling his reservation at the last minute, so he got his justified petty revenge in the end!
