What is the tipping point at which you stop considering your coworkers as just your coworkers and start viewing them as friends?

First, some consider every coworker a friend, as long as you are able to talk about things that are not work-related on a daily basis. It doesn't matter if you never talk to these people outside of the office, as long as you enjoy being around them, you can consider them friends. 

Then, there are those who believe that coworkers become friends as soon as they start seeing them in non-work-related social events. For example, if you decide to go out for drinks after work, the people you go out with become friends, and not solely coworkers.

Lastly, many claim that your coworkers can never be your friends, no matter what. Even if you feel a sense of camaraderie and belonging within the office, it is still every man to themselves, and if you are not too careful, those coworkers you started to consider your friends will betray you, and you will never see it coming.
