If you are anything like a significant proportion of the population, you may regularly find it a struggle to leave your bed in the morning. It is just so soft, and warm, and welcoming, and the outside world is cold and harsh and expects you to do things other than lie there and rot. Having the alarm sound when you are still tucked up and dreaming can be the very definition of an impolite awakening.

Luckily, we live in an age where smartphones exist, and it is a lot simpler to ease the transition from the land of the sleeping to that of the awake. All you have to do is pick up a screen and start scrolling, preferably gluing your eyeballs to the random world of memes. They are just about absurd enough that it is almost like a dream stream of consciousness, and not that horrible reality we seek to avoid.
