  • Entitled lady demanded my laundry machine time like it was a timeshare
  • So I (20F) live in a shared apartment complex where we all use the same laundry machines in the basement. It's first-come, first-serve, and everyone kind of just... respects that.
  • Except this one lady who just moved in two weeks ago. She literally stormed into the basement while my stuff was in the washer and goes, "Ugh. You didn't sign the schedule." Me:

  • "What schedule?" Her: "I made one. We all need to start taking turns." Ma'am. What. She whipped out this handwritten "laundry schedule" like it was a holy scroll
  • and tried to convince me I had to give up my machine because I "wasn't on the list." I told her no one agreed to this, and the property manager literally said we don't reserve machines.
  • She stood there arms crossed like I'd committed war crimes, then muttered something about "kids having no respect."

  • She ended up waiting the full 30 minutes just to glare at me while I transferred my clothes to the dryer. Congrats, I guess? Welcome to the building, laundry tyrant.
  • MrStormChaser You need to give the property manager a heads up because you know she's going to be a problem. Also, stay with your laundry before she tries to pull some sh.
  • Aev_ACNH "I have to wash them a second time because they were especially dirty ". My petty a would have put more coins in at the last minute and started all over again. I may be busy, but I always got time for tyrants.

  • hissyfit64. Laundromats can turn into such war zones. I used to have to go to this really one. Machines constantly broken, pools of water on the floor. One night it was packed and there were 7 working
  • dryers out of 20. One dryer became available and this other woman and I were both eyeballing it. I said, "Look. It's a hot mess here. Why don't you take this one, I
  • take the next one and we take turns"? She agreed and we started the process. Another woman needed a dryer and we worked her in. It was a rotten situation and the only reason it worked out is because everyone

  • cooperated. That doesn't happen very often Luckily I found a wonderful laundromat that is spotlessly clean with a huge number of machines.
  • Traditional-Candy476⚫ If she doesn't like fcfs, she can either get her own washer/dryer (if there's hookups in her unit) OR.... Go to a laundromat. But guess what, Karen!?! It's FCFS there too.
  • I'm petty, I'd be doing as many teeny loads as I could to inconvenience her. But I'm a sahm... I've got time to be petty

  • pkincpmd⚫ Well, darn, guess that lil smudge on my sleeve didn't come out yet. Guess it needs another full cycle to get it right. I'm sure you won't mind waiting. Okay?
