'The void found a void and filled it with love': After losing his wife, grieving grandpa gets adopted by bold black kitten that wanders in and fills his home with love again

Usually, dads and grandpas are the ones who resist getting a cat the most. They always protest and say things like, "Not in my house!" until the cat starts loving them, and then they turn into big puddles of goo that end up loving the cat more than anyone. Especially if it's a kitten. It happens literally every time. However, in this story, it's the cat that adopted the grandpa, and he seemed purrfectly happy to welcome this new furry friend into his life.

After losing his wife, this wholesome grandpa was feeling all sorts of lonely. Well, you can purrobably guess what happens next - a bold black kitten just wandered right up to his house and adopted him. The CDS heard his need to be loved, so they sent him their most loving angel in the form of a feline. Maybe it was fate, maybe it was grandma who made the call for him, or maybe it just happened on purre coincidence. Either way, it's pawsitively sweet!

  • We're not an expurrt in german, but that sounds like something sweet. We hope it is anyway because this story is just so purrfectly wholesome. Two souls that needed care and love found each other, and hopefully, they will take care of each other for the rest of their lives.

    After he passed, we had to give Buttons 4am breakfast, and after he'd go sit on my great grandpas bed all day. Sad, but their companionship was so sweet & I think it helped my great grandpa a lot. He really loved that cat.

    Worried-Pick4848 19h ago He probably needed that cat desperately. Besides needing to receive love, every one of us has an inbuilt need to give love. I've described cats as love sponges in the past and it's pretty apt. They give us an outlet for our need to shower affection on things.

  • Our cats have gotten us through a lot. When we lost our best friend, our cat never left our side for a month. It was horrible, but they just stood there, listened, and soaked up all our sadness and replaced it with happiness.
