'He had plenty of chances': College student gets ghosted by their partner on a group project, does all the work, and only credits themselves on the final paper; slacker gets the 0% grade they deserve

Group projects in college are supposed to teach students how to work in a team with another person, but what they truly teach us is to resent the slackers/freeloaders of the group. Funnily enough, this is a life lesson that will follow us forevermore in the workplace, with family, and in our friendships, but this college student wasn't ready for a crash course in loser partners for their first 2-person project.

  • After getting assigned randomly to another student in the class, this hardworking student was determined to follow the prompt and work together on their project. However, the slacker had other ideas—and clearly other, more important plans—that kept them from showing up to any group project meetings, contributing anything to the course, and even texting back when their partner became concerned. Fine, you don't want to help on this project? It's not going to do itself, so this diligent student did the project themselves, crediting their solo effort on the final product right in front of the professor. 

    Sometimes, snitching on someone is absolutely the right thing to do...

    It was a two-person project. I reached out right away to plan things, and he didn't answer. I figured maybe he was just slow to respond, so I followed up again. And again. Still nothing. No replies.

I submitted the assignment with a note saying no one else contributed, no one showed up to any meetings, and no one helped write any parts of the paper. I received an A and the three others got zero's. So satisfying.
