Pro tip: If you ask someone for a favor, try not to overstay your welcome. There is no reason to make them regret ever agreeing to help you out, especially if you plan on seeing that person again. What's the problem with asking for the favor, getting it done, saying thank you, and calling it a day? Why do some people feel the need to take more than they were given?

Sometimes one favor calls for another, and that is understandable, but you can't make a habit out of it, and you can't demand anything you are not legitimately entitled to.

Take the employee in the story below as an example. He asked a coworker for a favor–to use their office parking spot for a couple of hours. The coworker graciously agreed, but mentioned a specific time at which they need the spot back. So far, so good, right?

However, when that coworker arrived to park their car, they saw that the car was still there and the owner was unreachable. Eventually, the car was forced to remain there until it was towed the next day, and said employee is never going to be able to ask for any favors in the office ever again…
