There's nothing quite as awkward as the first (and last) time you arrive at your workplace after getting fired. Having to put all your belongings in a box, having random people who barely spoke two words to you tell you that you are going to be missed, and having to give your boss one final look as you leave the premises, never to return… Yeah, it's not a fun experience, but we have to power through it if we want to move on, that is simply how life works…

That is why, when it is time to go to work one last time, you hope that nothing unexpected happens. You want things to go as smoothly as possible, because if you think that the last visit can be awkward, imagine how awkward it would be to be forced to return yet again, because something wasn't properly finalized the first time around.

When the employee below was pushing to receive their final check after being fired, we got why they were so eager to get it over with. They wanted to be done with it, leave that workplace behind, and be free to look ahead to the future. But once their (former) boss stopped replying to their texts, they realised they must do something to ensure they get their closure…
