Wednesday has arrived, animal fam, and for some reason, our doggo has trained us to go to a specific park on Wednesdays. We don't know how this happened, but if we don't go to this specific park every Wednesday, we are faced with a puppy protest that we can't bear to deal with. Whining, pulling, and even lying down in the street if we try to walk in the opposite direction. As soon as we start going in the right direction, she perks up faster than you can say "Walkies" and she starts happily prancing towards the park.

We know we're not alone in fulfilling our doggo's ridiculous routines to keep them content. And we're also pawsitive that ours isn't nearly the weirdest. So, we searched the internet and found a thread of doggo pawrents sharing their pups howlarious habits in the comments below. It's just as wholesome, and as silly, as you think it will be.     I'll start: Every night, my dog insists on being tucked in with her own blanket. And not just any blanket her favorite fluffy one. If I forget, she'll stand by the bed and whine until the "ceremony" is complete.

  • Another ridiculous routine we have is whenever we get up in the morning and make our bed, our doggo jumps on and rubs her face in the comforter while grumbling about it being morning. We call it “talking smack”, and she must get out all her grievances before we leave for the morning walk.

    Pointedt... Our dog has a crate blanket that she NEEDS and she also gets night night water. She has her own cup in the bathroom and takes a few tiny sips before getting on her blanket. God forbid you forget the night night water. She will let you know. She's 16, so it's quite a long standing set of traditions.

    Ok-Guidance9411 Our little dog needs steps to get on the bed. In order to use the steps she needs an encouraging song sang to her that we learnt off TikTok "she's so brave, she's well behaved, she is not afraid" by the 3rd sentence she's worked up the courage to conquer the stairs.     Pilea_P... My dog won't eat dinner alone. I make his food, get his placemat and I sit with him. He takes big bites of kibbles and then crunches it in my face, wagging his tail. Every time I say "ooo big cronches!". He's very pleased with himself. This is almost always accompanied by a big burp at the end (also in my face).

    Also the night time treat game. I hold out two fists, one with his treat inside and he sniffs out the right hand. He won't eat his bedtime crunchy without the game.

    habit and we adopted "double down Friday" and now our Google goes off every Friday at 10pm saying "Hey dogs! It's Friday! Let's double down!" and they lose their minds lol

  • Our pups would lose their minds if we had a double-down Friday. We started adding salmon oil to her kibble, and now she scarfs down her food so fast we even had to make her eat from a puzzle feeder so she doesn't literally inhale it.

    If I talk soothingly with "settle down, it's settle time, good girl" to her, she drifts off in minutes. Sometimes if she has a really bad night, I literally will sing her a lullaby with those words and her name and it works so it's become a routine to do one or the other each night.

    beaubeaucat Every evening when I get home from work I have to take the dog across the street to the mailbox so he can bring back a piece of mail. He will stare and huff at me until I do it. He also has to go out and bring in packages left on the front stoop.

    Narayani1234 Whenever I take her out of the house, for a walk or to the dog park, I say, "Go tell Papa where you are going" and she runs right to him, tail wagging, to do that, and he fusses over her and tells her to have a good time. If she really is excited about going out, it's more of a drive by than a check-in, though.

    Jolly_Acanthisitta32 1d ago On days that I wear makeup, she will sit there and stare at me... until I grab a blush, and a blush brush, and "do her makeup". I don't actually put it on her of course, but I go through the motions. First one cheek then I say "other side", she turns her head, and I do her other cheek. Then she is happy and goes to chew on her bone.

    Reason - there's a specific grass that dogs love, but at this time of year they're long, thick blades. My dog will eat the long blades whole, which will either bunch up in her stomach until she pukes it up or else she poops out a stringy poop.

    Collins4816 Mine starts slow walking about 20 from the house and then stops at the driveway. So I will pick him up and carry him inside. This a 13 year old 40 pound scruffy terrier and I have to go up a flight of stairs. If I don't do it he will just slow slow walk and stop. It's ridiculous

    At bedtime he requires a like five min cuddle before he'll Get cozy in his own bed and no one is allowed to be awake if anyone has gone to bed. Entire pack in bed or else (the whines the stomping the judgey looked and the herding)
