27-year-old spoiled younger sister claims her older sister's weird-sounding cat isn't happy, mom warns cat pawrent: 'Your sister is going to try and take [your cat]'

    Before I start the story let me give a little background. I have a cat named Oliver. Oliver is a strange cat. He doesn't really meow and he tends to make these odd quaking sounds.

    I kept telling her that he's not a verbal cat and that he'll talk when he wants to. She'd manhandle him and get mad. I snapped at her one day and asked her why she's so determined to get Oliver to talk.

  • This is such a major red line. You never, ever, steal someone else's pet. Yes, there are cases where a pet needs saving from a bad household, but how did the younger sister came to a conclusion that this cat needs saving? Unclear.

    Mom:" I understand and I'll tell her." We finished up our conversation and said goodnight. The next day my stepdad showed up to move my sister home. I put Oliver in the bathroom and kept an eagle on my sister.

    I hope they try again to help her establish her own life whether she likes it or not. Parents have a right to an empty nest if they want one. Nobody should feel forced to raise an adult forever baring disa lities or other unusual needs. Perhaps it is time they soured the milk and made their home less desirable to her.
