Welcome back ladies and gentlemen of the internet. Social media can get out of hand. It's just people online posting photos, it's not just an alternative version of yourself. For a lot of people, their whole life is online, and their social media avatar speaks louder than their real life one. Have you ever met one of these "influencers" in person? They're almost nonexistent sometimes, and it feels like who they are on their Instagram account is such a performance compared to how they are in real life. The dissonance between the two characters can be strong, although not always.
 

When you fight with someone on social media, it can really feel like a true fight in your real life. The symbols and meaning behind posts, photos, likes, captions all become very political.
