Entitled 22-year-old Teresa demands that older sister give up her house for her birthday weekend, sister refuses due to her history of never cleaning up after herself: "I have seen how the cottage looks after the weekend "
Your birthday is supposed to be a special day where your very existence and survival are celebrated by the people closest to you. Still, everyone has a very different and personal relationship with their birthday. Most adults don't pay too much attention to it; they mark their calendars and host small gatherings with close friends or get dinner with their significant other when the day comes around. Some people hate their birthday. They do everything in their power to completely ignore it and keep the date hidden from the people around them, lest they come home to a surprise party they never asked for.
Then there are those whose favorite holiday is their very own birthday; they spend the whole year planning and coordinating birthday bashes like it's Thanksgiving or Christmas. Maybe they love the attention, or maybe the simply love a reason to party. Our protagonist's sister is much like this. Traditionally, she rents out a cottage to have her weekend-long celebration, but she didn't reserve a spot fast enough this year. That's why she's demanding to use her sister's house instead.
