'The best horse ad I've ever seen': Farmer writes adorably unhinged ad trying to sell his chaotic rescue horse, now people are begging to adopt him

We don't know if we ever told you this, animal fam, but we actually had two horses growing up. It's not as magical as it sounds when one of your chores is to muck the stalls every Saturday and Sunday. Other than that, though, it was pretty awesome. We lived in a rural neighborhood, so we had the space for horses. Our mother loved horses. They are enchanting creatures. Intelligent and enormous. Very empathic.

Not a lot of people know this, but horses have very prominent personalities. So when a horse is as stubborn as a donkey, you're in for a wild ride (literally). One farmer posted a hilariously unhinged ad trying to sell his chaotic rescue horse, and what started off as a joke resulted in numerous requests for adoption and sale. The Craigslist post went viral and has been circulating the internet, so even if you're not a horse girl or guy, you can still get a kick (pun intended) out of this adorable ad.

  • See? What did we tell you - horses are full of personality. One of the horses we had as a child loved to play tag. He would nudge you with his nose, then run off and wait for you to chase after him. Obviously, he always won. Once he saw we were too tired to run, we would come up next to us and nuzzle. It was adorable.

  • It really is a very effective advertisement. When you write with such passion and satire, it's almost impossible not to fall in love with the chaotic little guy. If we had a stable and about 5 acres of backyard, we would take him. Unfortunately, we live in an apartment in the middle of a city, so it won't work out for us.

    Brave enough that I have no doubt she would walk through fire for me. Unflappable about nearly everything, or at worst would give a spook-in-place and instantly settle. Unless it was a white plastic grocery bag. I even carried her feed to her pan in a white plastic grocery bag for years but she was convinced they were the devil.
