‘"I'm not going to refund something I gave you"’: Customer demands a refund for an e-book she purchased from a freelance writer 3 years ago , then resorts to calling the writer and her husband in the middle of the night for the cash

If you thought entitled customers are limited to regular-degular industry jobs, think again. Even freelance writers and aspiring authors run into the same old entitled people who those in the service industry try to escape. It seems like no matter how far you hide, you will always be reminded of the way some people will never learn that the world does not exist to make them comfortable.

Imagine this: You're an author trying to get your book out there. You're selling e-book copies instead of physical prints because life got in the way and struck you with a medical emergency. Sure, no problem—e-books are convenient. You communicate this with your prospective customers/readers, and all who still wish to purchase a digital copy from you communicate that efficiently.

Some three years later, you jolt awake to a buzzing sound in your ear. The last thing you'd expect is a customer from years ago demanding a refund for an e-book they agreed to purchase.   • This story is more absurd than anything I've heard in a long time. Though it's easy to write this off as a crazy person trying to do crazy person things, entitlement is still present. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to confirm that.

    Commenters believe this customer had an ulterior motive, especially given the time of night the self-proclaimed tough-on-cash customer reached out to the author.
