who wants change is the person that should facilitate that and that I should not have to uproot my life by finding a new place as well

windypine69 who's on the lease? and, if the bf had to apply to live there, would he qualify? and who was there first? nta, but somethings gotta give.

Adventurous_Age_3694 OP We moved in together so neither of us were first and we're both on the lease. Her boyfriend would definitely qualify though.

Puzzleheaded-Ad7606 Tell her either she pays ALL your moving costs- movers, deposits, boxes, time off- or she can be the one to move.
  • 14
Solid-Feature-7678 Contact you LL and update them on the ongoing situation so that your roommate can't doesn't submit a 30 day notice in your name behind your back.

AgeBeneficial Point to some rocks in her garden, then, tell her to kick them.

cynical_overlord 1979 ΝΤΑ She's not more important than you. It is not her house to kick you out of, you have the same rights to the space.
  • 17
If she wants you to move badly enough, she could offer to help financially and practically to make it happen (assuming you were ok with that) and also give you your half of the security despite back. Otherwise she can move herself.
  • 18
JBB2002902 NTA, but please speak to your landlord and see if you can get a longer term lease and make it clear to him that you won't be moving on. I wouldn't put it past her to tell him you're leaving to end your lease behind your back.

ThatDarnTiff So when they break up, is she going to be asking you to come back?
  • 20
SafeWord9999 Let her know she can pay for your moving costs as her romance is costing you money and legally you don't have to go anywhere, but you can sure make life uncomfortable for her
  • 21
BMal_Suj ΝΤΑ You live there, you don't' have to be good with getting kicked out of your own home...
  • 22
Zestyclose-Height-36 Nta, if she doesn't want to be roommates, she moves.
  • 23
MarionberryOk2874 Her reasoning that she's tended to the garden and most of the furniture is hers is laughable...it's almost like she knows she can't actually kick you out. The one who wants a change is the one who moves.
