You cannot assume that your coworkers are your friends. If you are a lonely person who doesn't have that many friends, it can be tempting to constantly ask your coworkers to hang out with you outside of work. After all, you spend so much time together anyway. That must mean that you're building a bond to last a lifetime! While there are some offices where coworkers become fast friends with each other, that's more the exception than the rule these days. Look at the comments on any r/antiwork post. It seems as if a ton of workers want to show up to their jobs, do their jobs, and leave without having to pretend to care about their coworkers' personal lives. I don't think you have to choose between never talking to your coworkers and constantly asking them about their personal business when they're clearly uncomfortable with that.
