We all have complicated relationships with our parents. I don't care who you are, where you're from, who your parents are, or whatever lie you want to share about your relationship with them, but it's never a straight line. The waves of good times and bad times with parents are multifaceted and complex. I can safely say that my relationship with both parents has evolved and changed so much over time. When I was a child, I wasn't close to my dad at all, and was much closer to my mom. As I got older, there was an ebb and flow in every direction. These days, I feel like I'm close to both of them, and that things are good between us. They may even be reading this listicle right now! (Hi Mom and Dad), but that's besides the point.
