Mom washes coloring off Skittles to give to kids, claims it's more natural: 'Nothing beats a wet bag full of Skittles'

One of the many challenges that come with being a parent is trying to make sure that those kids are eating right. Taking into account all their ever-changing likes and dislikes while also attempting some nutritional balance can be a nightmare to deal with. That is before you even start thinking about the ingredients list of the ultra-processed items that they beg you to buy at the grocery store. As if there wasn't enough to be neurotic about with parenting.

With foods like candy, many would argue that for children and indeed everyone else, the best rule is to have everything in moderation. Still, that is not enough for some of those who freak out at the thought of their kids ingesting an additive that they can't pronounce. Traditionally, these kinds of parents might just be the kind who only let their kids have fruit for a sweet treat. However, the influencer moms are thinking up new and inventive ways to circumvent those ingredients they don't like.

  • This was the case for one mom who raised eyebrows when she posted a video of herself washing a bag of Skittles in the sink to take away their color before feeding them to her young children. Apparently reasoning that this was a more ‘natural’ way for her kids to eat the candy, it is fair to say that most viewers were baffled at the logic behind this move. If nothing else, the finished result looked extremely unappetizing—not due to the lack of color, but how wet and sticky they must have been.
