  • Friend demanded my frequent flyer miles for her vacation S I travel a lot for work and rack up airline miles. I usually save them for emergencies or to visit family.
  • A friend recently found out and asked if I'd "gift" her my miles so she could take her boyfriend on a beach trip. I politely said no, I've been saving them for years and I want to use them for myself.
  • She immediately went off about how I'm "stingy" and that "miles are just sitting there, doing nothing." When I said, "They're not yours to give away," she replied, "Well, if you're not using them, it's basically a waste." She hasn't spoken to me since. Honestly, not a loss.
  • HaifaLutin Ask her to give you the balance of her checking and savings accounts. That money is just sitting there, doing nothing. If she's not using the money, it's basically a waste.
  • Osr0. "You know all that time I spend away from my family and friends when I'm on the road working? Those sad miles are my payment for the missed memories and fun times. No I'm not giving those away" - you
  • WantToBelieveInMagic ⚫ "Hey friend, I just learned you earn money. I want some so I can spend it on my next vacation." Tell her the air miles are part of your salary and it is weird as f* for her to ask
  • United-Platypus-602. I would never talk to this woman again. She just showed you exactly who she is, this will never change.
  • Snoo-74562 Top tip. Use them semi regularly because the airline can change their value at any point.
  • almeuit It is wild to me how so many people have become entitled to others things. Beyond logic.
  • IceBlue ⚫ You're saving them. They aren't going to waste if you use them eventually. By her logic putting money in the bank is wasting money.
  • HumbleCoyoteGames My husband used to have a job where he travelled a lot and he was given a Hilton Honors credit card as his work card. He ended up building up a lot of points and we went to a Hilton all inclusive resort in Mexico for basically free (this was in 2014)
  • When his friend found out, he asked to use the points for his own vacation. My husband explained that we used all of them and it would take awhile to build that much up again. Thankfully his friend was understanding, even apologized for asking, and never brought it up again... I can't imagine someone getting mad about it. So weird to me.
  • Sub_Umbra⚫ She immediately went off about how I'm "stingy" and that "miles are just sitting there, doing nothing." I'm just gonna guess she's not the "savings account" type...
