Family tradition goes a long way. That is, of course, until it meets a cul-de-sac and you are so desperately trying to press the reverse button. Throughout life, some celebrations bring families together, and others are filled with encouraging certain family members to go play pretend 'hide and seek' around the house, just so the rest of the family can get a break from them…

This father, in particular, could spend some time hiding out in the kitchen after his big set off at his daughter's 7th birthday. In Brazil, there is a special tradition where the birthday boy or girl gifts their first piece of cake to the person they love and appreciate most, more of a gesture than a commitment set in stone. After this, 7-year-old daughter presents the piece to her mother, her father loses his cool, going on about how he is the provider of their home, so surely, he deserves the first slice…? What started as a sweet tradition has turned into a competitive tug-of-war, only this time, he is the only one pulling the rope.
