'She dropped it on the bed for a second and the dog got to it': A family vacation is thrown into chaos after a dog chews a passport, but a last-minute flight to Buffalo for an emergency appointment leads to a tense but successful reunion in Jamaica

Going on vacation is a wonderful thing. You get to explore a new place in the world. You get to discover new things. And best of all you are far far away from your work life. But what happens if you get to packing for your vacation, only to find out that your passport has been irreversibly ripped to shreds by your pawdorable pupper? Do you bring the doggo with you to passport control to show them the criminal who destroyed your identification document?

This was the question that one woman unfortunately had to answer when she wanted to set off for a break in sunny Jamaica, only to find that her not-so-good boy Golden Retriever had chewed through her passport making it completely unrecognizable. But instead of dragging her doggo through passport control, she had a cunning plan involving a surpassingly speedy passport renewal. So the doggo might not have managed to stop his dog momma from flying off for a week, but we all got to learn how to handle one of the more dreadful situations that our doggos can land us in.

  • Holy what? How did she manage to get her passport reissued so quickly? Maybe because her doggo was the culprit, they felt bad and made sure that she had a passport ready to go in no time. It is probably the best excuse someone could have for presenting a shredded passport.
