'Three days later, I received eviction papers': Entitled landlord tries to evict California woman with service dog from pet-friendly property because she is scared of it

We get it, not everyone likes dogs. Some people like cats (we can live with this), some people like snakes (this we will never understand), and others prefurr to have no pets at all. Everyone is allowed to have their own preferences, but what you're not allowed to do, is infringe on others' rights to have pets, especially when the "pet" is a medical alert service dog that doesn't even qualify as a pet! These dogs are treated as medical devices and do not act like normal dogs. They don't beg for food, they don't interrupt random strangers - they work, and the work they do is crucial to their owners.

You don't have to like dogs, but you can't use your fear of dogs as an excuse to stop someone else from having them…. and that's exactly what's happening below. A landlord, who is apparently scared of big dogs, is trying to get a California woman with a cardiac-alert service German Shepherd evicted from her pet-friendly property after claiming that her dog did something wrong. Normally, we would be pawsitively furious after hearing about this, but if what the tenant says is true, they're about to win a lawsuit and make a lot of money, so we're not so sad after all. We hope they win, and we hope this entitled landlord gets their just desserts.

Our dog (not a service dog, but we did invest a lot in her training) was also very well-adjusted to dogs, until she had a negative incident with an older, much larger dog. Ever since then, she's not quite as innocent and trusting as she used to be, and she's consistently nervous around bigger dogs. This is one of the things that is hardest to “train out” of a dog.

If everything she's writing is true, she really doesn't have anything to worry about. Yes, it will be a lengthy and tiring process to drag this to court, but if they really have no grounds for trying to evict her, she's going to get a huge payout.
