Remote work skyrocketed during that time in 2O2O, for good reason. The work-from-home structure, though, proved itself useful. Companies can grab candidates from all over the world and find job seekers who are the best fit for the role they're hiring for. Similarly, folks who are homebound or who simply wanted the flexibility were able to work comfortably from wherever they saw fit. Hey, as long as the work is getting done, right?

There's a running joke about remote work: The employees do nothing all day. As a hybrid employee, I can attest to the fact that this is not true for me. However, many members of the workforce find they truly do absolutely nothing day to day. There are many factors to this, and most of it is chalked up to poor management/communication skills. If an employee isn't being handed tasks and cannot find a way to create some for themselves, then they should step back, relax, and read a good book until they are needed. Think about it. How often do you dilly-dally in the office just so you have something to do? Remote workers who aren't assigned tasks, most of the time, are in the same boat. If you're working from home right now, take a break. You deserve it.
