We don't care what led her to treat your cat like this, it's unacceptable. Even the most “justifiable” reason is not good enough. Even if she's mad at you for some justifiable reason, the cat didn't do anything to her and did not deserve this. We would have blown up so fast.

Seven weeks would probably feel like a very long time in this situation, and we understand why you would hesitate to say anything. But we still think that you should. If the cat, god forbid, does end up sick from this, which is entirely possible, then this roommate needs to know that it is her fault and any costs would be her responsibility.
