One of my first jobs ever was as a dishwasher for a catering company. It was when I was shoulder deep in sink sludge and rotting food residue that I knew I'd have to stay up on my own dishwashing at home, lest my own kitchen sink become as grimy and foul as the one at work. Day after day, I'd plunder the sudsy water, soaking and scrubbing my way to a job well done, and it was from that day forward that I knew I'd never leave my dishes undone at home ever again.
Because the longer your dishes soak in the sink, the more time resentment has to brew in the hearts of your roommates. And until you have a bed full of dirty dishes, you don't know how far they're willing to go to make a point.

"AITA for putting my roommate’s dishes in a box instead of washing them?"
