AITA for refusing to let my sister's boyfriend stay at our family cabin after he humiliated me in front of everyone?
  • 03
I'm 25F, and my family owns a small cabin that we usually reserve for family trips.
  • 04
Last weekend, my sister (27F) invited her boyfriend (28M) to join us without asking me first.
  • 05
During the trip, he made several rude comments about my appearance and the way I organize things, even joking about me in front of my parents.
  • 06
I was humiliated, and my sister didn't say anything to defend me.
  • 07
After we got home, my sister asked if he could come again next weekend.
  • 08
I told her absolutely not, explaining how disrespectful he was.
  • 09
She's now upset and saying I'm being "too dramatic" and "shouldn't ruin their fun."

AITA for refusing to let him come back to our family cabin?

MissAtomic Bomb-o... NTA.. when you're a guest you need to behave with a molecule of decorum. The fact that he was comfortable to talk about your appearance and to humiliate you means he has no common decency.

He would not be stepping anywhere near that cabin if it were me. And the fact that everybody was fine with his behavior and comments, they are all jerks and as bad as he is...especially your sister..

Flims... Is this YOUR family's cabin (you, your husband, your kid,) or is this THE family cabin (all your relatives).
  • 14
Either way, your sister shouldn't be bringing someone who was rude and mocking, around you ever again, without a sincere apology from him
  • 15
Few Television39 "I'm sorry sis but I don't feel like I should have to be insulted and demeaned as a way for you to have fun."

chocolatechipwizard NTA. Don't allow yourself to be forced into the role of family doormat. Stand up for yourself and never surrender.

Slightly_Squeued Why are those in the wrong the first to accuse others of being 'dramatic' 'sensitive' 'can't take a joke.'
  • 18
A person who is essentially a stranger, insulted you in front of your family. In a place you go to relax and feel you can let your guard down.
  • 19
You're NTA but your sister is for not having higher standards.
