Being a parent is all about making sacrifices. Maybe you do certain things that you don't want to do, like attend a Little League baseball game. Very few people would like to do that of their own volition. You could probably think of hundreds of other things you'd rather do with your time. But you love that little guy, and you wouldn't miss it for the world. It's part of what you sign up for when you sign up for a child. Your time isn't exactly your own anymore. You share it with the little being that you created. 

And sometimes it's completely worth it. When they hit a home run at the aforementioned little league game, you cry a single tear of pride. Or when they take their bow at their ballet recital, and you see how happy they are. These are the moments you wouldn't trade for the world, when all those late nights and early mornings and meals eaten over the sink and lost hours of sleep become entirely worth it. But what about all the other moments?
