A good meme, much like many good pieces of art, will often make a certain thought or observation that has lingered at the back of our minds at some point but never really become fully formed, and then put it front and center. Some really good ones take a thought that it feels like nobody could have ever possibly had, and then make it seem like an obvious thing to think.

We could argue that memes are not exactly educational, but it has to be said that the way they frame things can be very successful in giving us a sense of perspective on the topic, even if that topic happens to be dumb.
