You're working together as a team, and that can look like you splitting the bills 50/50 or splitting them 80/20 because one of you is in school and one of you has a cushy corporate job. 

If you're making financial moves with your partner, you need to work as a team. That means that every decision you make needs to be made together. If one of you wants to quit your job to become a stay-at-home parent, you both need to figure out if that's the right decision for your family. Maybe it's not, and if so, you need to figure out how to compromise.
