AITAH for refusing to let my sister's dog sleep in my room after she asked?

Hey reddit, throwaway because my sister knows my account. So I (25M) live with my sister Sarah (27F) for now while my apartment is getting renovated.

She has this dog, Max, a really cute but super hyper lab mix. Normally, the dog is fine staying in her room or the living room, but a few days ago she asked if Max could sleep in my room because she "wants him to feel at home." I told her I'm not comfortable with that, I have allergies and I sleep. light so I can't have him. jumping around all night.

She got kinda upset and said I'm being "selfish" and that I'm overreacting, and she's just asking for one week.

I said sorry but my answer is still no. She then went to my parents and complained that I'm being mean and "don't care about family" and now they're on her side a bit.

My parents think I should compromise since it's just for a week. I feel like I'm being reasonable but now everyone's treating me like the bad guy.

eefr NTA. Why does the dog need to sleep in your room? The justification makes zero sense and doesn't trump your actual medical problem. "I have allergies" should have been the end of the discussion.

NTA, HungryFoodie1997 Shouldn't the dog already feel at home since it's his home you're staying at??

ChakraMama318 NTA-just leave. This is what I would send to the group chat: "Hey Family, I just wanted to let you know I made a decision. While I deeply appreciate sister taking me in while my apartment is being renovated, it's pretty clear that we don't cohabitate well as adults. And, I'm allergic to Max. So I am going to take off for the remainder of the week and "insert activity here." I find it really hurtful that you all seem to equate my desire to sleep without max as "not caring about fami

HotnCold-Flirt NTA. Allergies can seriously mess with you and a good night's sleep is super important for well being. It's not abt not caring for family, it's abt respecting personal space n boundaries. She's just gotta understand. Stay firm..

DoyoudotheDew NTA. Hard no. I have had dogs most of my adult life and. None ever been allowed to stay or sleep in my bedroom. Their primary job is security.
