Dude tells his party girl friend that she's not traditional enough to be a trad wife: 'She’s the opposite of trad herself'

We all know people who were party girls in their 20s and preachy good girls in their 30s. It's just the way that life works: people really do change, especially with age and experience. I don't think there's anything wrong with being a little wild when you're young, even if you aspire to getting married and making babies. There is a smaller subset of the population who are partying until the day they pass, and if that's you, more power to you. But it's silly to act like you need to be the same kind of person at 21 as you are at 36. There's a whole lot of life to live between those times, and living life to the fullest is the only way to truly figure out what you actually want in the long term. You might regret becoming a trad wife if you never saw the other side of life.

She's a great wife, great Mom, she had no idea what my financial situation was beyond...I did pretty well personally, but I'd inherited money and invested it well, but lived a VERY modest life. OP's friend is only going to attract guys that reflect the stage of life that she's in, guys who like who she is now. No one likes to hear this but if you want a certain type of person, you have to be a certain type of person. You might get lucky and get someone that meets your criteria, but you probably aren't going to keep

  • rachihc I think she needs to reflect as to why, if her values don't align with that lifestyle, why she looks up to it? Is it the social media influencers that have a mega rich husband and portrait an unrealistic life that she aspires to? Then she wants a life with money. It is going to be hard to pop her bubble of illusion, but you pushed her in that direction.
