‘[He] decided they needed an actual shelter’: A dad who “hates cats” falls in love with two voids dumped in the family's property, building them the sturdiest and warmest shelter for winter

Cats and dads, dads and cats… we're all on the same page when talking about the combination of these two creatures, right? Becaue if you're not sure what we're talking about, you should definitely check out this list of dads who claimed they didn't want the cat, but guess what? They become the cats' numner one fans the easiest. Yes, even the ones who claimed they "hate cats" and called them names. Fathers across the world have their hearts melting at the sight of a floofy tail, a sound of a soft meow, and a gentle paw that asks for pets.

This one wife took to the interwebs to tell the online feline family of her husband - a dvout dad who, you guessed it, "hates cats". It's not just that they cannot have cats enter their house, because both the father and their two kids are allergic to cat dander - the dad actively expressed his disdain for cats. But that all changed once a couple of void cats were dumped in the family's property. Sure, they took time, and a few "gifts" the cats left for the husband next to his truck, but he warmed up to them. So much so that he decided - even if he couldn't keep them at home, he'll keep them safe and warm for winter. He built an entire mini-house for the cats, with warmed blankets and all.

We love these cat adoption stories, because even if things cannot get 100% perfect - they can still be heartwarming, and have a wholesome cat and human bond, which we always adore.

  • What a pair of cuties. Who would ever dump a cat, let alone two? This is beyond our understanding. We are happy, though, that they “landed” in a place where they'll be taken care of.

    My husband and 2 of my kids are very allergic to cat dander. We weren't sure the cats were going to make it through the winter, but they did. They've now made it through 2 winters.

    They've majorly exterminated a lot of the pests around our house. They leave presents for my husband near his truck, or on our driveway where we go for walks. (We are pretty rural).

  • Look at that “cat hating” person. He dislikes them so much he… builds an entire warm shelter for them! Because he love… uh, hates them so much… right? Right.

    We had about 15 dogs dumped out here over the past few years. The dogs all moved along. We do not really have animal control out here.

    My coworker is a cat and we switched him over because some of our human coworkers are very allergic and the one w the worst allergies kisses him now (it takes I think 6 weeks for the food to work completely) 112 Reply ...
