Daughter refuses to pick her parents up from the airport after they yell at her for making them wait 30 minutes, she tells them to get a taxi instead: ‘They have stonewalled me since’

Generally, we all should love doing favors for our parents. After all, these are the people who raised us, and we wouldn't be where we are if it weren't for them. So what is a small favor compared to a lifetime of devotion and love?

Well, that all depends on how your parents treat you when they ask you for that favor.

Take the family in the story below as an example. The parents asked their daughter to come pick them up from the airport (after she also drove them there and took care of everything while they were gone, mind you). She initially agreed, but when they started berating her for making them wait 30 minutes, she took back her offered favor and told them to get a taxi instead. 

If parents are genuinely grateful for the help you are offering, understanding that you are spending time and effort to come to their aid, that makes it all worthwhile. But if they act as if you owe them these favors, and become so entitled and demanding towards you, these favors will definitely not last.

    My parents were disrespectful so I made them take a Taxi home from the airport - AITAH?

    My parents (61M & 67F) went away on holiday and it was agreed that I would drop them off and potentially pick them up although this was to be confirmed due to lack of space in my car.
