The coffee shop responded in the nicest way imaginable

Hey so sorry about this, we have a weekly order from odeko that we get for milk and other things like this through the week but we do let our baristas use instacart if we're running low and that's what happened here. Our bad for not talking to them about tip/etc when using it though so thanks for letting us know! We'll adjust it cause that is super low for the amount of work put into this order!! கு H

They reiterated that they didn't even accept the order

Yeah, I just saw this order, I did not take it. Thank you for a quick response and I hope the worker gets paid a little more properly. Respect for the response Seen 1h ago

Commenters thought this driver had a lot of audacity to talk to a customer like that

yameann45 The goofy a person didn't have to accept the order. Y'all steady complaining about an order YOU accepted. Ain't nobody force you to accept it and ain't no one force you to be on the app in the first place. That sh is shameful

    This person called them out...

CoffeeCrazyChris Cringe. Would take me 10- 15 minutes for this order, almost a dollar a minute and you're complaining because you're lazy? You're technically getting paid more per hour than their baristas

Severe-Reach-9245 OP Lol have fun driving around for rich folk who dont care about you. I did not take this order nor give a scrappy crap about Instacart shopping. I am a waitress. Restauraunts should not do this

cbostwick94 A coffee shop in my town was the same way. 12 or so gallons of milk, 15 creamers, 20 whipped creams, etc. All in one order. It feels wild taking that much sh from a grocery store. They didn't have a back door either and were on a busy main street so have to hope there is parking up front. But at least

tabbikat86 We have several businesses around here that order and tip nothing or very low. I've got them a few times when they were out with a big tipper... But it me off so bad because they are all places that expect 20% tips for their employees... And then they don't tip. I'd never call a place out but good for you for taking a stand!

NatureboyH I hate company orders. They act like the money is coming out of their pockets. That company card is not going to miss a 10-20 dollar tip. Especially when you ordering 75 milks and 65 1/2 bags of ice.

frying_pans I normally agree if it's egregious. But it's 2.7 miles away and only 11 units. That's not terrible. I've seen significantly worse, like 40 gallons of milk with no tip going to a Dunkin' Donuts.

Some people warned that this person wouldn't be allowed to keep working on the app for much longer with that attitude

BareTheBear66 Hey so. We can mention something without being hostile and/or petty. They too are just doing their job to a corporation just as YOU are. Ive been a delivery driver and my partner has worked for starbucks. Both are sh jobs that dont get much help on any end.

At the end of the day you probably couldve easily asked for a larger tip in a way more respectful and professional manner instead of whatever the f this was. Remember. YOURE ON THE CLOCK TOO. And is just as much of a job as any other... and can get fired even if you make your own time.
