Sometimes you wish you could go back to a time before you knew too much about the world. There was a time when ignorance was bliss. When the world was only as big as your school classroom and your bedroom, which was covered in Backstreet Boys posters. We're not supposed to be in that state forever, and we definitely aren't. One of the conditions of growing up is that you start to learn more about the world around you. And that can be a wonderful thing. Before I grew up, I didn't know the delight of a summertime heirloom tomato. I figured all tomatoes were icky and that I would never eat them. But growing up has taught me that your tastes can change.

As you get more informed, you have more tools to honor yourself with. But that doesn't mean that sometimes we want to go back to when things were simpler. When all we were worried about was whether or not our favorite music video would play on TV that night.
