So like the title says, I was out camping in the woods with my son. We were hiking and boom, meowing in the woods and then a cat just showed up. EXTREMELY FRIENDLY and I just picked it up and carried it back to our campsite. So now we cut our trip early and brought it back home.

Brought her home, vet managed to have an appointment same day, she got shots, check up, bl d work, and just sent the off today. No fleas, no ticks, and hopefully no worms. The vet said she was likely to be 6months old, and very healthy.

I was concerned that there was going to be an issue with potty training. She peed and pooped on my couch. She figured out the litter box over night and hasn't had an issue today. She truly is such a good girl it's wild. What ever her story was before doesn't matter, she is my baby now.

michellekwan666 Are there any residential areas near your camping site? I hope she wasn't dumped in the wilderness but in any case it's lucky she found you

FuegoMcHaggis OP Closest town was 20mins away. I was looking for other cats in the area but only found her.

Independent-Sir7516 Yep, if that's a torti, which it kinda looks like, she's a little lady! Definitely a trip to the vet is in order, they can check for a microchip, scan for any trojan soldiers, and also check for any diseases. If you were out far in the woods, probably no previous owner, but a quick microchip scan will help confirm. And sadly, she may be the result of someone dumping kittens in the woods. She's a survivor! Congrats on the successful acquisition of your new distribution!

Malsperanza Feral cat may have given birth in the woods. Depending on how close to a populous area it is, someone may have dumped a cat there. And not all wild-born domestic felines are feral. This one obviously knew that you were a sucker an easy mark a good choice for a new family. Good for you for having the right priorities! and welcome Calpurrnicus - or more likely, Calpurnia. :-)
