We were obsessed with the Animorphs book series when we were kids. We loved the idea of being able to transform into any animal that we could touch. To be able to turn into a hawk for a few hours and feel the sensation of flying, or to be a house cat and experience their incredible reflexes and their noodley bones. But those weren't the main reason - we really wanted to turn into animals so that our lives could be simpler. A hawk doesn't have to think about homework or soccer practice; it wakes up, flies around the sky, hunts, and goes to sleep. Sounds kind of peaceful, to be honest.

Well, our dreams of being a fierce hawk or a sleek tiger are long gone, but our desire to turn into the chonky deer below? Oh, that dream is still very much alive. This big buck has become something of a local legend by stealing his neighbor's apples all summer, getting gloriously round, and sunbathing in their yard like he pays the rent. He will judge your every move while he monches on his favorite snack, so prepare accordingly. This Fall harvest king is here to stay, and he is our new adorable Autumn mascot.

Is this one of those professional deep-fakes? He's so chonky he looks like one of those plastic deer our grandma puts on her lawn for decoration. Although. we've never seen a plastic deer licking its lips, so he must be real (and hungry).

The Bugs Bunny show was truly unhinged. We can't believe we watched such outrageous shenaniganry as a child. Also, let it be known that Bugs Bunny was a drag queen, and a very good one at that.
