Boss accuses remote worker of being lazy, he maliciously complies by sending him daily emails at 6:00 AM: 'Just trying to keep my lazy habits under control'

Who are you calling lazy, boss?

This remote worker was sick and tired of all the unfair accusations he and his team of coworkers were receiving from upper management about their status as "work from home" employees. Yes, they were hired at a time when remote work was far more widely embraced as a necessity, but it was written into their contracts that they were to remain fully remote.

Thankfully, this was not one of those situations in which fully remote employees were suddenly and without warning forced to return to the office. However, they did have to endure repeatedly unkind and unfair remarks about how "lazy" they were, especially from their direct boss. This was, of course, antithetical to the team's actual output. Clearly, their boss wasn't able to argue that they weren't pulling their weight with data. He could only throw shade at their working habits, accusing them of sleeping late and starting work at 12:00 PM when there was absolutely no evidence supporting this claim.

The author finally decided that he wasn't going to just sit there and take these manipulative remarks day after day. So, he decided to start bothering his employer every morning… at 6:00 AM.
