8th-grade troublemaker picks on 7th-grade girl for dressing alternatively and calls her a witch, so she leans into the accusation and scares him out of his mind: ‘[He] stared at me horrified’

In middle school, children are still trying to figure out their preferences, personal styles, and interests. That's why it's important to teach all children that just because another kid is different from them, it doesn't mean they should feel entitled to make negative comments about a kid simply being a kid. We were all there at one point in our lives; we wouldn't want a fellow classmate ripping apart an outfit that our moms had purchased for us at Sears the day before. That's why, when an eighth grader decides to pick on multiple students and teachers in the next story, a seventh-grade girl decides to give him a scare. Just in time for Halloween! The eighth-grade boy thought it would be funny to pick on the girl for dressing in all black, calling her a witch in the process. Yes, he meant it. The girl had had enough of this boy's torment, which was not only bestowed upon her but upon others as well. So, she decides to go full witch-mode.     Now Mark was super religious and stuck up. I sat down first day in my all-black alternative outfit and makeup and the first words to come out of his mouth were, genuinely scared, "are you a witch?" | thought this was a joke, so I responded "yeah I am." He got quiet and fear filled his eyes.

    We came into my history class, saw me sitting there and broke down crying. We were both sent to the counselor, and I sat there while he explained how I was worshipping the d vil and performing witchcraft on my fellow students.

    dasher2581 I was in 9th grade (junior high back then) in the mid-70's. There was a boy who lived next door to my best friend who always used to tease us and yell nasty things at us while we were walking home. One day, I told him that we were witches and we'd cursed him. He was walking backwards in front of us, mocking me, and then he turned around to run off - right into a utility pole! This is not only classic middle school behavior, it has been for decades.
