Okay, so, I've searched up answers but only met the opposite problem from mine. My
  • 03
mother recently adopted a two month old kitten (f), and we've been trying to get her to get
  • 04
along with our current three year old cat (m), (and the stupid dog that is too excited for his own good)..
  • 05
Whats the problem, you may ask?
  • 06
Our current cat (bless his little soul), is skittish, but always tries to say hello. He doesn't hiss, he
  • 07
doesn't growl, he recently started to let out soft meows meant for her and tries to slowly approach
  • 08
her not to scare her off and overall just tries to sniff her. But the lil kitten always hisses at him..
  • 09
I give them both treats at the same time so that she can see that he isn't a threat, try and
  • 10
make him play so that she sees he isn't a big scary monster, but she's having none of that and
  • 11
growls and hisses at him, having her ears back (sometimes) and eyes wide like saucers. Today she
  • 12
switched and instead tries to make herself look bigger with her back arched. I don't really know what to do at this point..
  • 13
On the positive side though, she no longer hides when he's here.. Any help/advice helps..

decompress for a few days and give her playtime. Then slowly introduce her to the resident cat using the

Jackson Galaxy method (look it up). Train the dog to behave properly with the kitten and do proper introductions there too.

You can't just plop a kitten in a bunch of animals and expect it to all be okay
