Heated exchange ensues in the airline boarding line when a B-group Karen tries to cut, she gets called out by a rule-abiding passenger: 'I ask what her boarding number is and she refuses to tell me'

  • People waiting in line at the airport
  • I'm apparently the reason Southwest is going to assigned seats X
  • So we're lining up to board a Southwest flight, and I ask this lady what her boarding number is so we can line up correctly. She just says, "We're all A," and refuses to tell me.
  • When it's time to board, she gets all huffy because I'm getting on before her. Then she snaps at my husband, saying they were in line first. He tells her
  • he's just keeping the line moving, and she goes, "You two can just go be jerks together."
  • So I turned around and said, "Bitch, I asked you what number you were."
  • She actually went and told the gate agent about it, then started letting other people board ahead of her because I was "upset" with
  • her. Also made a dumb comment about assigned seats. So I guess I'm officially the reason Southwest is switching to them.
  • Terry_Riz999. I had a similar situation. I nicely asked this woman what number she was because I'm nice and wanted to stand in the right place.
  • She told me the numbers didn't mean anything. So I replied "if they don't mean. anything why are they there and why do they tell people to line up in numerical order?" She called me an
  • asshole. Haha. Anyway, I was with my children so I wasn't going to escalate it. I stood behind her and told my kids never to act like her. We took the row behind her and if the kids kicked the seat I didn't notice this time.
  • just... I get A16 quite a bit. I don't line up right away, but usually there are more than 5 people lined up between 16-20. Making sure A1-15 isn't full, I stand in front of the A16
  • stand without asking those behind me what their number is. Same when I occasionally pay for business select and get A1, I would line up in front of whoever thinks they are A1.
  • Mad1son James ⚫ I just aim to be in my group of 5, rather than in exact numerical order. There isn't room for 5 people in each area anyway. However, I also don't mind if people ask for my number and want to be exact about it.
  • Floppy-Over-Drive • Karens need to be called out more. Thank you.
  • StrangerLemons The amount of people that won't tell you their number astounds me. I've seen it happen multiple times. I know people are upset about the assigned seats, but it is
  • the most complained about issue because of things like this and just people being selfish and wanting to get on board first.
