Leaving for a 4 day trip

    Couple worried about their cat
  • 02
My partner and I adopted a 2 year old lady in September and we're leaving her for the first time to go on a trip. I guess I just want
  • 03
to ask for any last minute advice as we leave tomorrow morning and are super anxious pet
  • 04
worriers. Any words of wisdom or advice for instructions.
  • 05
We have a few different family members coming in 2-3 times a day, feeding her, and loving her.
  • 06
We're also leaving a bigger bowl of dry food and water out to make ourselves feel better. We
  • 07
have our upstairs neighbors graciously on call as a back up in case of emergency.
  • 08
My concern is just emotional, she's never been left alone more than 6-8 hours, she sleeps in bed
  • 09
with us, and thrives off of cuddles. She is essentially my shadow, and the idea of leaving in the middle of the night is
  • 10
making me so sad for her!! I'm also an anxious traveller... so I'm overall horrified leaving her. Unfortunately, my partner isn't.
  • 11
tough either and is equally worried. Any fellow cat parents who experience separation anxiety from their pets... please chime in. Thanks in advance.

Infamous-Mixture5... Please use an automatic feeder and a water fountain. Buy everything now to schedule the feedings and

see if she likes the fountain. Set up cameras and leave strategic lights on. Cats don't like being in the dark,
  • 15
they're more comfortable with some light. If people are coming in multiple time a day that's great. I am

visiting my sisters cat daily. She hates me, we've never gotten along for 8 years, but she's so sad I come in now

Hot-Evidence-5520 My spouse and I left our cat for two nights and three days. We invested in an
  • 22
automatic feeder because our typical sitter couldn't come and feed him. We also left our multiple bowls of
  • 23
water for him and ensured the two litter boxes were clean and had fresh litter. We kept all his usual hangout places accessible too.
