‘It was really moving to witness': Lonely WWII Vet approaches the ‘intimidating teens in hoodies' a the park, genuine friendship blossoms and teens happily visit him every week for the rest of his life

There are many stories floating around the internet that can make you only see darkness in humanity. However, every now and then, you come across a story that restores your faith in the human race, and this is one of them. John, a WWII vet who lost his spark ever since his wife passed. Everyone caring for him could tell that he wasn't happy. He would go for walks at his local park everyday, but stopped after complaining about "intimidating teens in hoodies." One day, he goes to the park with the ominous parting words: "If I'm not back in an hour, come check on me." So, of course, when he didn't return in an hour, his nurse came running looking for him. 

 

To her surprise, she didn't find an injured old man on the ground, she found a happy man with a new pep in his talk as he told his old war stories to these "intimidating teens in hoodies." It turns out he approached them, told them how he felt, and the teens apologized and ended up talking to him for hours. After that, everyone's lives were changed. The teens would visit him weekly to her more of his stories or watch old war shows and movies with him. Even when he went into full-time care, these teens came to visit him. He ended up living the rest of his days as a happy man.
