‘Say bye-bye’: Pizza place's new management drastically cuts working hours, so disgruntled employee of 9 years gets them shut down, demoted to a B rating, and the incompetent managers fired

A pizza place came crashing down after a disgruntled employee reported them to the city when they cut his hours for the 3rd time. Working at a pizza place is an entirely different service industry ballgame then, say, working at a fancy bistro. Usually, pizza place culture is more casual, with a chiller crowd of dinners and kitchen staff. Except, HA! Wouldn't that be a hoot, a restaurant with a "chill" kitchen staff. Are you even a real restaurant if you don't have one person in the kitchen screaming about something? 

 

In the case of this pizza place, it was ultimately the new entitled and incompetent management that was the shop's demise. They decided not to care about their longtime employees and try to phase them out. For no reason in particular, other than they wanted to start fresh (I guess??). But you don't mess with a restaurant's long term employees, they're the only ones who really know what's going on! And this restaurant learned that the hard way after drastically cutting the hours of an employee of almost 10 years.

  • It was very disgusting yet I didn't say much because I knew theyd get rid of me before the roaches it's also important to point out that every time I reported seeing roaches, it was never documented and it was always covered up by management.

  • Since this employee had been there almost 10 years, you better believe he knew way more than the public did. That meant every dark, dirty, and roach infested secret…

  • Revenge: After they did not schedule me for the 3rd time in a row, I made sure to take it in my hands to send an anonymous message to the Department of Health of my city to let them know exactly where theyd find the roaches at the restaurant and what time to come out to avoid them being caught and trying to hide the roaches at infestation.

  • Different_One265 I worked a family run pancake house. They let me go when the son messed up when the dad was gone. My plan was to do the same but, the universe took over. I had joined the Navy and after boot camp, schooling and getting settled at my first duty station - I could finally visit family/home. Heading over to my aunt's house, we drove by the restaurant. Gone. It was a paint store. He must have gone under right about the time I was finishing my schooling. Made me so happy.

  • Parking Tradition799 My daughter had the exactly the the same thing happen to her. She worked part time, suddenly he cut her hours. (she hired people for him! Got on with customers and other staff!) Then he did the same to her friend and between them they phoned the health department. Family of rats living in the storage area. Got them shut down. They re opened a month later. Then we found out the other restaurant was fire bombed!!! I think they had a lucky escape!!

  • Whatwillifindtoday I can see how this would be very satisfying. You were put in a position that you had very little control over. (other than to walk away and find another job) It must have felt like being bullied by management. You took the bully down. Which is definitely more satisfying than allowing them to get away with treating their employees that way.
