Nostalgia is a powerful emotion. It can come over you when you're least expecting it. And the 90s were an interesting time. I feel like it's one that gets glossed over when we're talking about nostalgia. Everyone's all in on the 60s and 70s in the trends, music, and culture from that time, but fast-forward a couple of decades, and everything is a little more overlooked. Sure, we have Gen Z bringing back tattoo chokers and low-rise jeans, but that's not true 90s culture. 

True 90s culture is whatever you were doing in the 90s. Maybe you were a kid whose biggest concerns were making your varsity sixth-grade basketball team. Or maybe you were obsessed with Britney Spears and watched all of her music videos. Culture is all about what you make it. Nobody gets to decide but you. Sure, we're all formed and influenced by our time periods in our generations, but that's only part of what makes us us. But for that reason, it can be helpful to look back on the time period that made us. It can be helpful to look back at the past and see where we're coming from.
